Bečov u Mostu se poprvé v pramenech připomíná v roce 1327 jako „viliam Peczschov“. Jméno obce nepochybně do doby, kdy se v okolí usadili Češi v roce 1706 až 1763 a dali obci jméno Bečov, dříve německý Beč.
