Obec Třtice se nachází asi 3 km od dálnice Praha – Karlovy Vary za Novým Strašecím. Podle archeologických nálezů bylo místo osídleno již v době kamenné (před 6000 lety). První písemné zprávy jsou ovšem až ze 14. století. Obec se nachází v nadmořské výšce 430 metrů.
